Excerpt and Giveaway Holding On Forever (Truly Madly #2) by Cecilia Robert

Published: December 13th, 2013

Description:

Liese is finally moving on with Frey by her side. But sometimes letting go is the hardest part, and trusting is a risk one has to take. In between her practicum and spending time with Frey whenever he is town, she fights her insecurities, and wins. Then something happens and Frey's priorities momentarily shift, making her second guess their relationship. Suddenly, going back to their former best friends status has never looked so appealing.

Frey's life has never shined so bright now that Liese is his. But there is a part of him that is shrouded by memories he'd rather have them buried where no one can touch them. Not even him. But even buried memories and people can't stay hidden for forever. What Liese doesn't know is that Frey isn't about to let go so easily, and he will throw in everything he's got to stop her from leaving him. He has waited an eternity for her. Giving her up is not an option.

EXCERPT

“What can I say?” Frey was about to tease him about Ria when his mobile vibrated in his pocket. He pulled it out, his smile widening as he pressed the answer button.
    “Finished so soon, Li?”
“Almost.” She took a deep breath, as if summing up energy to plow ahead along a very rocky path.
“Mom called. They would like us to go visit them.”
    “Yeah? When?”
“I told them we could visit in two weeks when you come back from your Berlin assignment. You up for it?”
Frey placed his beer on the table, stood up, and walked to the window to avoid Liam’s curious gaze. Visiting Liese’s parents as her best friend had been one thing. As a couple, that was an entirely different angle. They hadn’t yet told her parents they were together and Frey didn’t have any clue how that would go. Liese’s parents had treated him like family for the length of time they had known each other, which was a whole lot of time. Her father called him “Son” and her mother called him “duckling”. Despite the endearments, it was still difficult for him to guess their reaction.
“Frey?” Liese’s voice pulled him out of his uncertain thoughts.
He rubbed his unshaven jaw. “Sure. What time?”
Liese paused then said, “You don’t sound sure.”
Man up, Freytag. “I am,” he said, trying assert a dose of bravery in his voice. “They love me. Surely they wouldn’t toss me out the front door. I’m ‘duckling’, remember?”
Liese laughed. “We will talk about it later, Freytag.”
“Uh oh. Am I in trouble?” he asked in a voice so low he heard Liese pull in a sharp breath.
“Yup. Start thinking of ways to un-trouble yourself, sweetheart.”
